A big investment from the federal government to the town of Yarmouth to help grow the local housing supply.
Ottawa is spending over $2,323,150 from the Housing Accelerator Fund which is a program designed to remove barriers in order to build more homes, faster.
With the money the town will develop an action plan to construct 119 new residential units over the next three years.
“A great deal of work by staff went into the Town’s successful bid for this funding,” said Yarmouth Mayor, Pam Mood.
“While we cannot build housing, we continue to think out of the box to find new and creative ways to increase our housing stock as quickly as possible. This is a huge win!”
