A section of Bayers Road is now reopened after a gas leak Wednesday morning.
It was near Bayers Road and Oxford Street and the public was asked to avoid the area, but around 12:45 p.m., police posted on X, the road was open.

The area of Bayers Road from Windsor Street to Connolly Street as well as Oxford Street from Liverpool Street to Edgewood Avenue is now reopened to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

The damaged gas line on Oxford St, Halifax has been squeezed off and there is no further release of gas. Eastward Energy personnel will remain on site to repair the damage.
