Condolence books for Antonine Maillet available at U de M campuses

Sadness remains after the passing of a prominent figure in Acadian Literature.

Antonine Maillet passed away on February 17 at the age of 95.

Books of condolence are now available at all three L’Université de Moncton campuses, in Moncton, Shippagan and Edmundston.

  • Moncton campus: Champlain Library, International Center for Acadian
    Studies, Level 0 (in front of the permanent Antonine Maillet Exhibition), from
    8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  •  Shippagan campus: Entrance to the cafeteria area, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Edmundston campus: Simon-Larouche Pavilion entrance hall, from 8 a.m.
    to 8 p.m.

The public is invited to sign the book and express their sympathies.

Displays have also been set up, with photos and a collection of Maillet’s work.

In honour of Maillet, flags at the Université will continue to be flown at half-mast until February 27.
