Charges have been laid after a man barricaded himself in a Notre-Dame home for around seven hours.
RCMP went to a residence at around 11:16 Monday morning after reports of an individual in mental distress on Poirier Office Road.
A man with two weapons was inside and refused to cooperate with police.
Responding officers set up a perimeter, and specialized policing services, including the New Brunswick RCMP’s Emergency Response Team and Crisis Negotiation Team, attended the scene.
The man surrendered to police at 8:46 Monday night and was taken into custody.
A 48-year-old man is facing charges of uttering threats.
He’ll appear in court again at a later date.
