Boil water advisory in St. Stephen

By Brad Perry Feb 8, 2025 | 11:28 AM

A boil water advisory has been issued for all municipal water users in St. Stephen.

Officials said turbidity, or discoloured water, caused by ongoing repairs to the pumping system means the water may be unsafe to drink and could cause serious illness.

All water destined for consumption should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute.

That includes all water for cooking, drinking, food preparation, juice and drink mix preparation, making ice, washing fruits and vegetables or brushing teeth.

“This alert will remain in effect until the issue is resolved but is expected to end in 3-5 days,” the town said on Saturday morning.

Another update is expected within three days.

More details about boil water advisories can be found on the Department of Health’s website.
