A man is facing charges after allegedly trying to grab a Thunder Bay police officer’s firearm.
Officers responded to Syndicate Avenue South shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday to arrest someone wanted on a warrant.
The Thunder Bay Police Service said the man initially tried to flee but was quickly captured.
He allegedly tried to grab an officer’s firearm and assaulted two others while they attempted to place him into a police cruiser.
A 40-year-old is charged with three counts of assaulting a peace officer, obstructing a peace officer and disarming a peace officer.
The accused appeared in court on Wednesday and was remanded into custody with a future court date.
