N.B. to release tariff response plan on Monday

New Brunswick is not ruling out taking American liquor off store shelves in response to the 25 per cent U.S. tariff.

Premier Susan Holt said her team will use “every tool in our toolbox” to defend and support New Brunswickers.

Holt’s press secretary told our newsroom Sunday that the provincial government would be releasing its full response plan on Monday.

When asked if that may involve pulling American liquor off NB Liquor shelves, she said it is “an option under consideration right now.”

A number of other provinces have already taken that step, including Nova Scotia, Ontario and British Columbia.

“It’s now more important than ever to build up our economy, buy local, and get to work seizing the opportunities we have across New Brunswick and our country,” said Holt.
