ONA and OHA fail to reach deal

By Tim Davidson Jan 17, 2025 | 2:19 PM

Five days of negotiations between the Ontario Nurses Association and the Ontario Hospital Association have failed to produce an agreement.

The ONA says this is the first time in 14 years they have negotiated a deal with the OHA.

The union says the deal presented by the OHA would have “unimaginable consequences for the nursing and health-care professional workforce and devastating outcomes for patients.”

The two sides will take part in mediation January 29th and 30th.

The ONA says it will be taking escalating actions in the weeks to come.

The union says it represents more than 68,000 registered nurses and health-care professionals, as well as 18,000 nursing student affiliates.
