A 26-year-old Darmouth woman has been charged with manslaughter after a hit-and-run in Truro.

In June, a man was killed when he was hit at the intersection of King and Duke streets.

Truro Police chief Dave MacNeil says investigators worked tirelessly to gather information to support laying the charges.

The woman is also facing charges of dangerous driving causing death and failure to remain at the scene of an accident.

Chief MacNeil says he hopes the charges bring closure to the man’s family.
