A pedestrian suffered non-life-threatening injuries in what Saint John police are describing as a hit and run.

Police said the incident happened in the 100 block of Somerset Street around 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.

“Witnesses in the area observed the collision and advised that the suspect vehicle was a dark-coloured sedan,” police said in a news release on Tuesday.

Officers said the pedestrian was transported to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area that has dashcam or video surveillance of the incident.
