A New Year’s Day baby in Fort Frances.

Riverside Health Care says Saylor-Lynn is the Rainy River District’s first baby for 2025.

She was born at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday at LaVerendrye General Hospital.

Baby and mom Hailey Copenace are reportedly both doing well.

The entire team at Riverside Health Care congratulates the family and welcomes Saylor-Lynn as the newest addition to the community.

Saylor-Lynn is the third to be born at a northwestern Ontario hospital on January 1, 2025.

Sioux Lookout and Thunder Bay also reported new babies being born on Wednesday.
