A man is dead after a tragic house fire in Shubenacadie.

East Hants District RCMP say it happened around 7:15 a.m., Tuesday morning on Hwy 215.

Two others in the home, a 65-year-old man and 57-year-old woman were able to get out of the house uninjured.

A 73-year-old man, however, was found dead at the scene.

The fire is not believed to be suspicious at this time as officials continue to investigate and gather evidence.

The investigation is being assisted by the Nova Scotia Office of the Fire Marshal, the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service, Northeast Nova RCMP Major Crime and RCMP Forensic Identification Services.
