Don’t drink and drive – take advantage of a free ride as you ring in 2025.
Halifax Transit is offering free fares for all riders after 6:00 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.
The gesture is in support of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
According to a release, in lieu of fares, a donation to the M.A.D.D. Halifax Regional Chapter would be appreciated.
You don’t need to activate your ticket on HFXGO during free-fare events. A banner message will be displayed on the app to help remind riders of free trips.
As well, over 40 bus routes will offer extended service on Tuesday night to help you get home safely after your celebration.
Bring in the New Year with Halifax Transit! Enjoy free service on Dec. 31, starting at 6 p.m. in support of @MaddHalifax. Over 40 bus routes & the Alderney Ferry will also offer extended service hours. To learn more, visit: https://t.co/sn5rxUkYwM pic.twitter.com/rULJuhmeTr
