A political science professor at Cape Breton University has written a new children’s book.

Dr. Tom Urbaniak wrote ‘You Are Loved’ in memory of his late wife Alison Etter.

It’s addressed to their 2-year-old son Oliver about the love Alison had for him.

Urbaniak says it’s resonating with all generations.

“I’m very happy about that, and I’m really open to doing more readings and having conversations using this book,” said Urbaniak.

It’s written in English French, Gaelic and Polish.

Proceeds are going to the Rev. Alison Etter Memorial Fund at the Atlantic School of Theology.

The book was launched in Vogler’s Cove, Lunenburg County on Friday, in the area where Etter grew up.

Urbaniak says his wife cared about others.

“If you needed a place to stay, or food, Alison cared about you. If you were someone in long-term care that didn’t get a lot of visitors, Alison cared about you. I wanted to convey that to our son.”

He thanks everyone involved who helped him with the book, including his friend, former Lt-Gov. of Nova Scotia Mayann Francis.
