Tbaytel wraps up 12 Days of Christmas campaign

Tbaytel has wrapped up another 12 Days of Christmas campaign supporting northwestern Ontario.

“As we approach the holidays, we’re reminded of the importance of giving back to the communities that have supported us throughout the year,” said Tbaytel’s Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Communication, Amy Meunier. “The 12 Days of Christmas is our way of sharing a little extra joy and kindness, with the hope that these small moments of surprise will make someone’s season a little brighter and inspire others to pass it on.”

This year Tbaytel supported not-for-profits and residents across the region with donations, surprise Christmas parties, gifts, free gas, meal deliveries and more.

Over the campaign, Tbaytel delivered the following holiday surprises:

  • Day One – Free skating and concession at the Neebing Memoria Arena
  • Day Two – Helped out the Dilico Christmas Wish campaign by filling 50 bags for kids in need
  • Day Three – Stopped at the theatre in Marathon to give families a free movie and concessions
  • Day Four – Tbaytel staff collected and purchased 1065 pounds of RFDA’s most needed food and personal hygiene products
  • Day Five – Visited Fort William First Nation donating free tanks of gas to 105 people at K&A Variety and Gas Bar. (K&A Variety also contributed to filling up gas tanks)
  • Day Six – Brought a bus filled with children from the Boys and Girls Club to a Kam River Fighting Walleye vs. Thunder Bay North Stars hockey game
  • Day Seven – Visisted Vanderwees Garden and Gallery to give 50 shoppers a $100 gift card
  • Day Eight – Visited the Children’s Centre Thunder Bay Christmas Party and donated the food for the party and gift cards to Walmart
  • Day Nine – Tbaytel Authorized Dealers across the region gave back to their communities in a number of ways including:
    • Everything Mobile in Terrace Bay – Purchased gift cards from Costa’s Foodmarket, Drifters, Home Hardware, Breeze’s Bakery, Schreiber Pharmacy, Boushi Sushi and Filanes and donated gift cards from Everything Mobile in giftbags to surprise local residents
    • Enercom in Atikokan –  Surprised Northern Lakes K-12 School and St. Patrick’s School, with hot lunches
    • Red Lake Marine – Purchased food from the Balmertown Food Fair to donate to Red Lake Food Bank
    • Oshtugon Computers in Dryden and Sioux Lookout – Purchased backpacks with mitts, hats, toothbrushes, shampoo, first aid kits and some food to donate to Dryden Native Friendship Centre and Sioux Lookout’s “Out of the Cold” Shelter
    • Square Three Wireless – Donated $1000 in gift cards from M&M Food Market to donate to the Wawa Christmas Hamper Fund
    • Sight & Sound in Fort Frances – Surprised shoppers at Beaver Mills in Rainy River and Cloverleaf Family Foods in Emo with gift cards
    • Donny B in Kenora – Teamed up with the Salvation Army to help with the gift baskets for the youth in our community that will be distributed for Christmas
  • Day 10 – Stopped at St. James Public School for bingo games and prizes, gingerbread cookie decorating and a pizza party
  • Day 11 – joined the volunteers with Meals on Wheels to assist in delivering meals with an added holiday gift from Tbaytel
  • Day 12 – Made a $10,000  donation to Acadia Broadcasting’s 36 hours of Cheer campaign which donates proceeds to Thunder Bay’s Christmas Cheer Fund.
