Salisbury pushing for better cell phone service

By Brad Perry Dec 18, 2024 | 5:35 AM

A lack of cell phone service in Salisbury has officials in the town taking action.

The town has written letters to Rogers and Bell Aliant to ask what is being done.

Mayor Robert Campbell told our newsroom the current situation in the community is unacceptable.

“Our residents are paying for a product that essentially cell phone providers know they’re selling the service to, to our residents in our community, that they cannot receive the service where they’re living,” said Campbell.

Residents have expressed concerns about a lack of service in the community from various providers.

Campbell said during a recent police incident, not everyone was able to receive the emergency alert.

Rogers is currently installing a new cell tower in the town, but Campbell said they are continuing to advocate for their residents.
