Two people are dead after a head-on crash on Highway 15 in Moncton, according to RCMP.
A 32-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man, both from Moncton, were taken to the hospital but later died from their injuries.
The crash happened on Route 15 westbound, past the Harrisville Boulevard/Dieppe Boulevard overpass, around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Capt. Serge Boudreau with the Moncton Fire Department told our newsroom that victims were trapped inside both vehicles.
Four others were also hurt in the crash, said police, including two people with serious injuries and two with minor injuries.
Route 15 westbound was closed between the Harrisville Boulevard/Dieppe Boulevard overpass and the Main Street traffic circle until around 4 a.m. on Monday.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
