Dieppe kicks off new annual tradition with ‘Holiday at the Park’

By Alex Allan Dec 9, 2024 | 11:35 AM

The City of Dieppe is set to launch its first “Holiday at the Park” event at Rotary St-Anselme Park on December 14 and 15.

Running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, this festive celebration promises a variety of activities for all ages.

Emélie Gallant, a community officer with the events team, shared the city’s enthusiasm for creating a new annual tradition around the holidays.

“We wanted to make festive activities for everyone to enjoy before the busy time of the year,” Gallant said.

Attendees can look forward to:

  • Sleigh rides from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Face painting from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Campfires at the Scouts Cabin from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Live music at the Doiron House from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Photos with Santa Claus at the Rotary Pavilion from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Holiday brunch at the Rotary Club-Rotary Pavilion on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The park will be decorated with recycled materials, showcasing the community’s creativity and commitment to sustainability.

“We used branches and trees that were falling out because they were dying, and even old tires, to make unique holiday decor from scratch,” Gallant said.

The community officer mentioned she is looking forward to the sleigh rides at the event.

“I think that sums it up perfectly to be on a sleigh ride with a hot chocolate and enjoying the nice decorations outside,” Gallant said.

With its blend of activities, decorations, and community spirit, “Holiday at the Park” aims to become an annual tradition in Dieppe.
