An investigation by city police has led to child pornography charges.

Police started investigating the situation after the Cyber Crime Unit received a tip about someone in Thunder Bay sharing child sexual abuse material.

On Wednesday morning officers searched a home in the community.

During the search, they arrested a suspect and seized some electronics.

As a result, a 22-year-old is facing the following charges:

• Possession of child pornography
• Accessing child pornography
• Distributing child pornography

The accused has already appeared in court and has been released with conditions and a future court date.
