The emergency department at the Sussex Health Centre will be closing earlier than usual on Wednesday.

Horizon Health said the emergency department will close at 6 p.m. to allow for necessary electrical system upgrades.

“This planned maintenance is taking place in the evening and overnight hours to minimize disruption to ED operations,” the health authority said in a news release.

The emergency department will reopen under its normal hours of operation, from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., on Thursday.

Anyone experiencing a medical emergency during the temporary closure should go to their nearest 24/7 emergency department or call 911.
