A big promotion for the senior manager of transit and fleet for the City of Saint John.
Kevin Loughery will take over as director of Saint John Transit effective Monday, Nov. 25
“Mr. Loughery’s expertise in project management and his ability to deliver innovative solutions make him an excellent choice for this leadership role,” Brent McGovern, the city’s chief administrative officer, said in a news release on Friday.
“His dedication to sustainability and modernization has already brought significant improvements to our city’s transit services, and I am confident he will continue to drive progress as Director of Saint John Transit.”
Loughery has led a number of transformative projects over the past two years, including electrification efforts for city fleet and transit.
The initiative included charging infrastructure, rolling stock and sustainable mobility options like electric buses and bicycles.
He also spearheaded the development of the on-demand Flex Service, expanding transit to underserved areas, and the launch of the JustRide electronic fare payment platform.
Loughery will take over for Ian MacKinnon, who was recently named the first general manager of Saint John Industrial Parks.
