A restaurant in Nestor Falls has been destroyed by fire.

It broke out at Green’s Barbeque and Bar before 8:00 a.m. on Thursday.

Fire chief Mike Kakeway says the building was covered in flames by the time they arrived.

The restaurant had been closed for the past month and the cause is unknown.

A small cabin nearby also received some fire damage as well. Nine volunteer fire fighters responded and are working on putting out any hot spots.

Highway 71 between Kenora and Fort Frances was closed initially, but has since been reopened.

There are no reports of injuries.
