Northwestern Ontario’s French Catholic Board has appointed its chair and vice-chair.
Trustee Claudette Gleeson has been appointed as chair of CSDC des Aurores boréales’ Board.
She has served as a trustee for the past 26 years serving as chair for the past three.
This is her second time serving as the chair and she has previously served as vice-chair for 12 years.
“This is my third year as Chair, and I am still learning a lot,” said Gleeson. “I would like to thank my colleagues for their trust, and I look forward to continuing our efforts for the success of our students.”
Sylvie Payeur has been selected to serve her third term as vice-chair.
She has also been a trustee for the past 26 years, previously spending 12 years as the chair.
“I am delighted to continue supporting our Chair; it is a privilege to be part of this team,” said Payeur. “We are here for the children, who are entrusted to us by their families, and we have great things to achieve.”
The board operates a satellite high school and ESC (Catholic Secondary School) of La Vérendrye in Thunder Bay.
They also operate a total of nine elementary schools in Dryden, Red Lake, Thunder Bay, Terrace Bay, Marathon, Ignace, Longlac, Geraldton, and Nakina.
