Seized Firearm - Supplied via TBPS
City police with the assistance of the provincial police have removed a significant batch of illegal drugs, guns, and cash from Thunder Bay.
On Wednesday morning, officers searched a home on Tupper Street.
During the search nearly a kilogram of both suspected cocaine and fentanyl were found.
The estimated street value of the drugs is $470,000.
Two loaded handguns and roughly $80,000 in cash were also seized, and two people were located and arrested.
As a result a 22-year-old and a 17-year-old from Brampton are facing the following charges:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine)
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl)
- Possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000
- Knowledge of possession of unauthorized firearm x2
- Careless storage of a firearm x2
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm x2
- Possession of prohibited firearm x2
- Possession of prohibited device
- Possession of firearm obtained by crime
The 22-year-old has also been charged with breach of a release order.
Both of the accused appear in court on Wednesday and they remain in custody with future court dates.
