Thunder Bay’s health unit is monitoring a few respiratory outbreaks in the district.

Southbridge Lakehead and Wilkes Terrace Long Term Care are both dealing with facility-wide COVID-19 outbreaks.

Southbridge Pinewood is dealing with an unidentified respiratory outbreak in the Hummingbird Unit while the Medically Complex Services area at St. Joseph Hospital is dealing with an Influenza A outbreak.

Meanwhile, a COVID-19 outbreak at Southbridge Roseview on the first floor and a respiratory outbreak at Geraldton District Hospital in the John Owens Evans Long Term Care area have both been declared over.

Outbreaks are declared when respiratory or gastrointestinal symptoms increase among residents.
