Kenora is taking home a national marketing award for its winter banner project.
The project was part of the city’s strategy to grow four-season visitor experiences and bring the community together.
The banners were displayed in Kenora’s downtown core and highlighted winter activities.
The open call for submissions was for people 18 years or younger and submissions were encouraged to come up with their favourite winter activity or experience on the banner, promoting what winter in Kenora means to them.
“This achievement reflects the strong collaboration, community support, and involvement of local youth in realizing the Winter Banner Project. It underscores our commitment to making a positive impact through community engagement and enhancing the four-season experience in Kenora for both residents and visitors. Congratulations to the team for this national recognition,” said Stace Gander, Director of Economic Development and Tourism.
Kenora was entered into the mid-sized category for economic development budgets of $200,000 to $600,000.
The city was honoured at the 2024 Marketing Canada awards in Edmonton
