How to vote in Nova Scotia’s municipal and CSAP elections

Polls are open as communities choose their next mayor, council and CSAP representatives.

If you did not received a voter information letter, you will need register as a voter, which you can do at a returning office or a polling station.

You’ll a valid Nova Scotia driver’s license, an ID card or an Indian status card.

Otherwise you’ll need two documents that have your name and one with your civic address. For a list of acceptable documents, visit elections Nova Scotia’s website.

Head to your municipality’s website for information on dates and times for advanced polls as well as voting locations.

Polls close at 7 p.m. and results should begin rolling in around 7:30 p.m. in many municipalities.
