Repair work on a popular walking trail in Bridgewater is set to begin.
The Trestle Trail Bridge was badly damaged by fire in the summer and has been off limits ever since.
The Town of Bridgewater (TOB) indicates the proper treated lumber and materials have arrived so it can be fixed.
A local company, Buck’s Home Building Centre, has donated the supplies to get the repair work underway and restore the area so the community can enjoy.
“The town is incredibly grateful for this donation and we salute Buck’s for being an outstanding community partner and volunteering to contribute to this important project for the residents of Bridgewater and the surrounding area.” – Town of Bridgewater
The section of Centennial Trial from the LaHave Street trailhead parking area to the trestle bridge will be closed daily, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., during work.
This section of trail will be an active work area with vehicles and equipment coming and going frequently during the project.
“We ask our trail users to respect this temporary closure area for their own safety during this work,” the TOB advised in an update on Thursday.
The work is expected to take about three weeks.
