A structure that burned along the Riverfront Trail near Bore Park in Moncton will be demolished.
City officials announced Friday that the demolition will take place next Monday and Tuesday.
A section of the trail will be closed from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days to allow movement of heavy machinery.
Platoon Chief Mike Lake of the Moncton Fire Department said they responded to the scene around 1 a.m. on Aug. 29.
Lake told our newsroom that he could see flames as high as 30 feet on his way to the scene.
He said it took a lot of water and time to extinguish the fire in the boarded-up building.
A thorough search of the building was done, but Lake said there did not appear to be anyone inside.
The cause of the fire is undetermined.
