A Moncton man is facing a number of charges following two alleged assaults in the city.
The first happened on Second Avenue in Moncton at around 5:25 p.m. on Aug. 16.
Police learned a man had allegedly been assaulted by another man with a weapon.
The victim was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene.
Three days later, RCMP said an officer saw a disturbance between two men on Vaughan Harvey Boulevard.
The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and the second man fled the scene.
A 36-year-old man was taken into custody at a residence on Purdy Avenue on Aug. 27.
He is charged with aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and failing to comply with release order conditions.
The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on Sept. 27.
