The new chief administrative officer in Quispamsis has begun his role.
Ian Watson was appointed to the chief staff position earlier this summer.
Watson has spent more than 30 years in the public sector, most of that in New Brunswick.
Most recently, he held the role of assistant deputy minister within the Department of Health.
“I look forward to this opportunity to continue my career in public service as chief administrative officer for the Town of Quispamsis,” Watson said in a news release.
“With an optimistic outlook, a commitment to collaboration and a drive to achieve results, I am confident that together, we will ensure that Quispamsis continues its impressive track record as a growing, vibrant, and engaged community.”
Mayor Libby O’Hara said council believes Watson’s strategic aptitude and track record of success in leading complex portfolios and building partnerships will provide a solid foundation to lead the town.
Aaron Kennedy had been serving as acting CAO for the past three years.
