Discounted parking rates in construction zones and encampment distancing guidelines are being brought back to Thunder Bay City Council.
In a meeting in mid-July, council discussed lower parking rates for residents up to 25 per cent off. City Manager, John Collin, then suggested discounted rates for people parking in construction zones and businesses effected by the construction.
A list of proposed guidelines for tents and encampments was also a topic of discussion, but controversy arose with some of those guidelines. This included two guidelines stating that tents should be five meters from rivers and railways, and 20 meters from private property.
Both matters will be further discussed in tonight’s meeting starting at 6:30 p.m.
