The Canadian Lakehead Exhibition Fair is kicking off its 134th year of operation.

There are a variety of fair rides available that have been brought in by the Manitoba-based midway company Select Shows.

Outside of the rides, there are still a wide variety of activities to enjoy.

The buildings on site are hosting a variety of programs.

The Coliseum is hosting food vendors, while the building beside it is hosting Kids World.

The Dove Building is hosting creative arts. “That’s like the roots of the fair, like, way back in 1890 when we started,” said the Vice President of Marketing, Judy Anderson. ‘That’s where they have all the demonstrators there all day, like weaving and knitting, all kinds of stuff like the flower displays.”

Townline Equestrian is taking over the Heritage building, “that is all full of farm animals, lots of horses,” said Anderson. “I think they’re even going to do some line dancing in there.”

On top of the programming, there are hourly performances, performances on the main stage after 7 p.m. and more.

The fair is running Wednesday through Sunday from noon to midnight.
