Five people were taken to hospital after a shooting at an Africville event in Halifax.

Police say it was around 10 p.m., Saturday, when two men exchanged gunfire which caused shots to go into the crowd around them.

Four people in their early 20’s were hurt, while one in their late teens has what are believed to be life-threatening injuries.

Investigators were on scene until Sunday afternoon.

Police are asking for any information or video from the area to help with the investigation which is in its early stages.
