Two Thunder Bay residents’ lives have changed in a big way.
Thomas Inman and Monique Thomas both share a name and apparently luck.
The duo, have both claimed the top prize on separate OLG scratch tickets.
Thomas came away with $250,000 from the top prize on Instant Neon Casino.
“I picked up this ticket while at the grocery store and never expected to win,” said Monique Thomas. “When I saw the prize amount, I nearly fell off my chair! It had been a horrible day, and this really changed its trajectory.”
She plans on putting her winnings toward purchasing a home and adding to her savings.
Meanwhile, Thomas Inman is $100,000 richer.
Inamn’s secured the top prize from the instant Gold Pursuit game.
The 71-year-old said he purchased a ticket and left it on his coffee table for a few weeks. “I heard there were still unclaimed prizes, so I took the ticket back to the store where I had purchased it,” said Inman. “When I saw the ‘Big Winner’ message, I went numb and froze, it was just good luck.”
With his winnings, Inman plans to complete some home upgrades and travel.
The winning tickets were purchased at the Shopper’s Drug Mart on North Edward Street and the Safeway on Arthur Street.
