140-unit development proposed in east Saint John

By Brad Perry Jul 9, 2024 | 12:28 PM

A 140-unit residential development is being proposed on Saint John’s east side.

Two 70-unit buildings would be constructed in the Nason Road and Martha Avenue area.

But first, the land needs to be redesignated under the city’s municipal plan from park and natural area to stable area and stable residential.

A 30-day public comment period opened on Monday evening. Residents who may have objections have until Aug. 7 to submit them to the city.

The matter is expected to go before the planning advisory committee for review and recommendation on Sept. 17.

That would be followed by a public hearing before Saint John council, which is anticipated to take place on Oct. 1.
