Halifax Water is removing a boil water advisory impacting 200,000 people.
It was issued at 6:00 pm on Monday and was needed because of a power outage at the JD Kline Lake Water Treatment Facility (Pockwock), which let untreated water into the system.
Halifax Water suggests flushing fridges or appliances that store water for ten minutes.
“Test results now confirm that all drinking water samples have met safety requirements,” stated in a media released on Wednesday.
The utility is asking impacted customers and businesses to get rid of ice made by an ice maker or ice cube tray during the advisory.
