If you’ve been struggling with the hot, muggy weather this week, you’ll be happy to know the heat warnings have ended for Nova Scotia and the rest of the Maritimes.

New historical highs were set in this province on Wednesday and again Thursday as temperatures soared into the 30s.

It was so humid, it felt like the 40s.

Environment Canada says the Halifax Stanfield International Airport recorded a high of 34.3 degrees Celsius, beating the old record of 32.2 °C on June 20th, 2001.

The Antigonish area set a record of 32 °C on Thursday, slightly lower than 2001’s record for that date.

Elsewhere in the region, the St. Stephen area of New Brunswick reached 35.6 °C on Thursday, beating the previous record of 34.1 °C set in 2020.

Charlottetown, PEI set a new high of 32 °C on June 20th, surpassing the 2001 record of 28.5 °C.
