Quick work for Thunder Bay Fire Rescue kept a blaze on Skyline Avenue from spreading.
The fire was reported around noon on Saturday and crews saw smoke coming from the front door.
Firefighters entered the home and quickly extinguished the flames.
Two crews remained at the scene to clear smoke from the fire and conducted an air quality test to ensure no harmful products from the fire were present.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue reminds the public to make sure combustible materials are kept away from the stove when cooking.
