A 76-year-old man has been charged with murder after a homicide in Cole Harbour.

RCMP say a man called the detachment to report he had just murdered a woman inside his home on Agincourt Crescent yesterday afternoon.

Police surrounded the home and after several attempts to have him leave, arrested him.

A 74-year-old woman was found dead inside.

The suspect is scheduled to appear in court Monday.

The investigation is ongoing.
