A short-lived closure for the emergency department at Rainy River Health Centre.

The department was able to reopen on Saturday, two days earlier than previously announced.

Riverside Health Care says it was able to secure adequate staff to resume full operations.

“Through the diligent efforts of our Riverside team and collaborative work with our physician partners, we have successfully secured adequate staffing to resume full operations at Rainy River Health Centre,” stated a release.

Riverside closed the department down late Thursday, later citing a staffing issue that was unforeseen.

It also called it an isolated incident.
