A Royal Canadian Navy ship is honouring a fallen soldier from Cape Breton.
The crew of HMCS Glace Bay has officially named their sailors’ mess in memory of Sgt. James “Jimmy” Patrick MacNeil.
MacNeil, who was from Glace Bay, was killed by a roadside bomb while serving in Afghanistan on June 21st, 2010.
Family, crew and community members attended the tribute at the legion on Saturday.
The crew also presented Town House Glace Bay with a $1,000 donation toward citizen services.
