Thunder Bay’s Kite Festival returns

If you enjoy flying kites, then you have something to look forward to this weekend.

Thunder Bay’s 41st annual Kite Festival is back, taking place at Chippewa Park.

The event offers a variety of events like kite flying, kite making, science activities with Science North, outdoor games and more.

Free shuttles will be running throughout the festival from the Intercity Shopping Centre to the event.

Shuttles are leaving the shopping centre at 11:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m.

Shuttles are leaving the park at 11:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m.

Residents using the shuttle are asked to park in the old Lowe’s parking area.

During the festival, Chippewa’s rides will be open and food vendors and community booths will also be set up.

The event is taking place on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
