Moncton’s EnviroFest returns at Centennial Park

By Regis Phillips Jun 7, 2024 | 4:39 AM

The City of Moncton is holding its second annual EnviroFest at Centennial Park this Saturday.

Tim Moerman, director of environmental planning and management, says Moncton’s low-carbon event will feature stations demonstrating what residents can do to help reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in six key areas: moving, housing, eating, buying, playing, and sorting.

“We all know where in a climate crisis, we know there’s an emergency, we know that we have to do something to keep the planet from overheating,” said Moerman.

Some events include exploring energy-saving programs from NB Power, broken items repaired by RepairVerse, and a walkthrough a Codiac Transpo bus or an Anglophone East School District electric bus.

Codiac Transpo is also offering free service through Saturday to help reduce emissions around town.
