Efforts continue to keep the level of Rainy Lake within an acceptable range.

Recent rain pushed Rainy Lake upward.

It peaked late last week, but the level remains outside the range for this time of year.

Thirteen gates at the dam on the Rainy River are now open to increase flow from the lake.

The International Rainy-Lake of the Woods Watershed Board says gates will be adjusted as lake level conditions change.

The aim is to get the lake down to the middle of the range established for this time of year.
