Three people have been arrested in a threats and mischief investigation in Saint John.

Officers were called to the Maclaren Boulevard area of the north end around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.

They were told that two males and a female were threatening people in the area and trying to damage windows.

“One of the males had broken a window before leaving the scene,” police said in a news release.

As the suspects were leaving, an altercation broke out between one of the youths and a woman in the area.

The woman’s mother intervened and was allegedly assaulted with a chemical irritant, according to police.

Police officers arrived in the area and took one man and two youths into custody.

An 18-year-old man is due in court Wednesday on charges of failing to comply with an undertaking and possessing a weapon.

A 17-year-old youth is also expected in court on Wednesday to face charges of mischief, possessing a weapon, resisting arrest, and assaulting a peace officer.

A 15-year-old youth was released on an undertaking to appear in court in August.
