Tubing on the Kennebecasis River to begin June 21

By Tara Clow Jun 3, 2024 | 12:45 PM

Have you ever thought of tubing the Kennebecasis River? You’ll soon get your chance.

Sussex River Tubing is set to open on June 21st.

Owner Dan Mazerolle says they’ve got over 600 tubes to choose from.

“I’ve seen people leaving to go on a three, four or five-hour drive to get to other tubing businesses. I thought, we’ve got a beautiful stretch of river here, and a lot of people that tube every year, or float down it every year, so I took advantage of that move forward.”

He adds you can just float your troubles away, “You pick whatever you feel like floating on, whether it’s a single tube or a double tube, or an inflatable kayak or inflatable paddleboard. We are right on the water, and you float down the Kennebecasis River for anywhere from three and a half to four and a half hours. When you get to the end, we’ve got a shuttle to bring you back to your start point.”

He says there’s been a positive buzz so far around the business, as word continues to get out about Sussex River Tubing. Hundreds of people have already inquired, wanting to make reservations.

“Comfy clothing is recommended. It’s just as if you are going down the Lazy River at Magnetic Hill, except you’re doing it for around four hours. We also have coolers available to rent, or you can throw a couple of refreshments into a backpack.”

You can find more information about Sussex River Tubing on their website.
