A stolen vehicle investigation has turned into the arrest of a person accused of first-degree murderer.
Police in Schreiber and Nipigon were dispatched to an incident near Gravel River on Highway 17 on Thursday.
The subject was seen travelling in a stolen vehicle.
A tire deflation device was used to try to stop the vehicle but failed. The driver kept going and the car wasn’t pursued by the police.
They later found the vehicle near Sunset Drive and arrested the driver.
After investigating, they found the driver to be wanted by the Grand Prairie Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) for the offence of First-Degree Murder.
The accused was brought back to the Nipigon OPP Detachment to be held in custody until returned to the Grand Prairie RCMP Detachment.
