All the rain in the past couple of weeks is starting to affect water levels on Lake of the Woods.

In the past week, the lake has gone up about 18 centimeters (or 7 inches) and expected rise by 9 to 16 centimeters (3.5 to 6 inches) over the next seven days.

Because of rising waters, the Lake of the Woods Control Board is authorizing several outflow increases at the Norman Dam.

Outflow has been increased in each of the past two days.

Another has been approved for tomorrow, and another may take place on Monday.

Outflow has almost doubled in the past week.

The Control board has as a result of the hike in outflow, water levels below the Norman Dam are expected to go up by 14 centimeters and 8.5 centimeters at the Dalles.
