Warmer than usual temps for summer in Maritimes

By Tara Clow May 30, 2024 | 2:10 PM

A hot and humid summer in the Maritimes, especially during July and August.

The Weather Network has released its summer outlook.

Meteorologist Nicole Karkic says the heat could linger into early September, “Especially through July and August as far as temperatures go. So hot, humid, even muggy at times.  We are looking at La Nina likely this summer. So with warm ocean temperatures, the forecast is that we could see a hyperactive hurricane season. So that could tip our precipitation totals above normal.”

They say a couple of storms could impact the region.

She adds periods of cooler weather are likely during June and early July, with extended periods of very dry weather.
